violinists are usually well maintained and very short nails, but it is not always the case. Hilary Hann said that the great " Misha Elman let grow the nails on his left hand as a guitar player and when to put your fingers on the strings, producing a vibrato crushed the full" (and Misha was famous for his velvety sound ). Even the players Sarangi, a relative of the Indian violin European block the strings with the nails (and put some talc hands to slide them on the keyboard).

Egypt, nearly 100 dead. Police opened fire. This is the title of the last article referring to ' on the site of Egypt' ANSA , released today at 20.36
The pictures I saw on the news tonight was awesome and I fear that Egypt soon there will be no place where they can be considered "safe", perhaps even Sharm el Sheikh and other Red Sea resorts.
While listening to the news I felt a vise to stomach. For me, Egypt is the holiday destination for many years, my oasis of tranquility between the magic of the desert and the wonders of the Red Sea. When I'm in Egypt I feel like "home." I was in Cairo last October and I realized that the situation of the population was really on the edge of bearable, but a popular uprising like the one now in place I could not really imagine it.
Since yesterday I was very apprehensive because we could not contact by telephone a dear friend who lives in Cairo. In the evening, looking on the internet I learned that in many areas of city cell phones were not working. This afternoon finally we were able to talk to him. He said the situation is tragic and there is a curfew from four o'clock till morning. I heard the news that they tried to plunder the Egyptian Museum, in times of anger causes a chain reaction of gravity of which we become aware only when it is too late to avoid them.
I hope that all these deaths have not been useless, that the Egyptians finally able to recover from poverty and reclaim their freedom.

Dare to sculpture the intangible nature of music. "Morpho Towers - Two Standing Spirals" is the creation of Sachiko Kodama and Yasushi Miyajima (the music is composed by Tetsuhide Hidaka ). Two steel towers from the edges with a spiral inner magnet is immersed in a container of ferrofluid . By varying the field strength magnetic, in sync with the music, the liquid takes the form of fragments that move around the edges of the spiral, creating stunning effects. Each tower beats like a creature that can communicate with each other.

Also this image, like the others, comes from a postcard of the early 900 and then the representations of love were a little 'different from those of the 2000s!

A voice, a violin and two drumsticks. .. may be enough for the music of Louisiana , infectious rhythm, the music is Canjun which has its roots in the ballads French settlers of Canada. Music Canjun has influenced American popular music, huge, and in particular Country . Traditional instruments are the violin el ' Accordion accompanied by metallic triangle and, when appropriate, from magic wands that beat the rhythm on the fiddle.
The watch of love for Valentine's Day - To My Valentine Queen of my Heart
In a previous post that had the title U.S. .... with love for Valentine's Day cards I talked about some beautiful greeting cards and now those images I used for my new watches decorated with the technique of decoupage.
It 's a pretty simple job. I covered the base with blue rice paper on which I have pasted the image I had printed.
To draw the hours I used white acrylic I used for some adjustments to the image.
I gave it two coats of glossy paint, I put the hands with the mechanism and here the clock ready for Valentine's Day!
I've prepared three, this is the first and can be found HERE

The National Anthems http://www.allnationalanthems.com/ is a fascinating site that collects national anthems from around the world (and help brush up a bit 'geography ). Apart from those known as the German (which uses the second movement of Joseph Haydn's in honor of Emperor Francis II of Austria) 's Austrian (from a piece by Mozart ), the United States (in the version of Jimi Hendrix ) or La Marseillaise ( recovery All You Need Is Love Beatles of ) there are nice, like the Indian anthem, Morocco, Mauritania or the tender of Nepal and the poignant Japanese.
Art Deco (name derived from the condition for a nutshell Exposition Internationale des Art Deco s et Industriels Modernes ratifs, International exhibition of modern decorative and industrial arts held in Paris in 1925 - and for that reason also called Style 1925) was a phenomenon that affected the taste basically the second and third decades of the twentieth century: it concerns the decorative arts, visual arts, architecture, fashion.
Paris Expo of 1925 saw triumph, among the many foreign exhibitors, the special French sophistication in various categories, dall'ebanisteria fashion accessories: Paris remained the international center of good taste even in the critical years that followed the First World War.
But Art Deco was not born with the exhibition, which was rather a kind of glowing review of a phenomenon in the late stage of its maturity, resulting in the same Paris around 1910 by Paul Poiret, fashion designer from the multiple interests, aimed at comprehensive reform aesthetics of modern existence.
overseas, the United States Deco joined more slowly, in a sense, collecting the baton to the thirties, with a distinctive taste for the so-called Streamlining Modern aerodynamic model, which authors were mainly designers Raymond Loewy, Henry Dreyfuss and Walter Dorwin Teague.
Paris remained in any case, the major center of Art Deco design, with furniture by Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann renewing the glories of cabinet Paris between Rococo and Empire style, with the company of Sue et Mare, with panels and Modernist furniture by Eileen Gray, with the wrought iron of Edgar Brandt's metalwork and lacquer of Jean Dunand, with works in glass by René Lalique and Maurice Marinot, with watches and jewelry by Cartier, with posters of Cassandre and Sepo.
The term Art Deco did not have a wide use until the taste is not was revalued in the sixties

I knew nothing about Iqbal Masih before reading this book, I do not know if others know who has been and just to make it known that I decided to write this review. The book's title is "The manufacturer of dreams " author Andrew Crofts is , a freelance journalist who often lends his skills as a writer to people who have a story to tell but do not have the capacity to do alone and for this reason that at times his name was not even appear on the cover.
the page that precedes the beginning of the book are written in two sentences that I'm going to because I consider important in order to play with the right spirit Gandhi 1949 "At a time when a slave decides not to be more strains melt. He frees himself and shows the way to the other. Freedom and slavery are mental states, "Abraham Lincoln 1862
" In granting the freedom to guarantee freedom to the slave free "
The story begins a few hours before the end of the life of Iqbal in the first chapter is in fact a guest house where, visiting his mother during the Easter holidays. Greeted by a crowd of acquaintances came specially to see it because it has become famous, Iqbal would return to the town to Lehore for him every place has become unsafe since he began his struggle against slavery and against the owners of the factories carpet. is left, however, persuaded by two childhood friends to go to find the father of one of them who want to see it but is busy with farm work. E 'along the road that the gaiety of the scene of three boys who laugh happy, balanced on one bicycle, is interrupted by a gunshot.
From the second chapter returns to the beginning of the story of Iqbal, who first shot which changed everything was a slave, he became one at age four when his father had sold him, along with brother Patras only two years older, a carpet manufacturer in exchange for a few dollars that would have allowed his brother more buy gifts needed to be married.
nell'accucciarsi work in the factory was in front of a frame and make the wires as quickly and accurately as permitted by its little fingers. It was taken in the morning and came home late at night, the first few times with his hands covered with cuts and blisters that over time would have been replaced by streets and at least they would not bleed.
His first master is not bad but soon sold it to another manufacturer of carpets. Iqbal is not a slave and his master is normally sold. The environment of the new factory and the new owner are very different from what they used to. Applies the absolute prohibition of looking up from his work and every little distraction is punished with a stick. Fearful of the consequences
children rarely make a mistake. If someone seriously cut a finger with sharp tools and had to stop working the guards began to shout to be careful not to drip blood sull'ordito. The child had to soak the wounds in boiling oil to make them quit and return to work as soon as they had finished bleeding. The time lost for the accident would have recovered the same evening. Often the boss accompanied him home to inform his mother of what had been negligent and that he had beaten the weak. It was not true, however, his mother scolded him and slapping too. the morning at four o'clock every day were getting it from home and he felt lucky because other children lived far away and the factory had to sleep next to the frames. Sometimes it happened that some of the companions to give up living, the next day in its place was another child.
eight years when he decided to escape and succeeds, but also wanting to save his comrades, he went to ask for help from police officers who, being corrupted, it returned to its owner. And 'at that time who knows the "punishment room". Is beaten savagely, the hands and feet are tied, is hung head down to the ceiling fan while remaining a full day to run along with the fan blades. After having returned to work is inspected at the factory that view is at home because the mother is concerned that should escape during the night. Iqbal knows that you just have to be patient and sooner or later a good opportunity will present itself and in fact manages to escape again. This time is far from the police and becomes a street child. E 'during the period in which he lives on the street that meets the person who will change his life. Ehsan Khan, founder of the Bonded Labour Liberation Front, an organization that aims to free the child slaves. Iqbal is struck by his speeches and wants to participate actively in this battle. There are also laws in Pakistan which prohibit slavery, but are not applied to avoid damaging the carpet trade. Westerners love the handmade carpets but do not want to pay that price should have if they were woven by workers rather than children.
The fight is hard, the enemies are many but they are also lots of people who understand that life is horrible that children are operating in the factories. They began to organize raids to free the slaves-children and make the first foray into the factory where he worked Iqbal. Save the children become the primary objective of Iqbal to which is added in order to study. "If can read and write and do simple accounts at least no one can cheat and make them sign a contract that makes you a slave again, "it had said Ehsan Iqbal and knew that it would be. Sometimes it happened that the children were freed again taken from the godparents, who were kidnapped them. "Because the government does not send the police and army to free the child slaves?" Is the question which arises in Ehsan Iqbal and he says that is because they believe that it needs to go. They say that child labor in Pakistan is a tradition and the economy is not structured for a change.
Iqbal continues to fight for knows that if something is wrong should change it at all costs, would not be able to live differently, pretending not to see how often it happens to us, with our consciences who adapt to situations intolerable. Iqbal's desire was to inform consumers of the fact that Europeans and Americans buying cheaper goods produced in the Third World slaves were free to produce it and in this way, slavery would never end. A Iqbal was awarded the prize for Human Rights, established by an American corporation (Reebok) and is in the U.S. to receive the award. becoming increasingly popular and more and more inconvenient for the manufacturers of carpets and that is why he is killed.
The murderers will not settle for getting rid of Iqbal, would use his death to discredit Ehsan and his organization in putting the rumor that he was to kill him to impress public opinion and propaganda organization.
'll do Until that certain situations are immutable, we must accept that some cruel because they are part of the tradition of a people we can not consider ourselves a people CIVIL. It 's a book to be included in school libraries, as gifts to the children because only if young people know this reality we can hope for a change. Browsing the Internet I found the site of an organization for the liberation of slaves made up of a young boy who had been listening to a speech by Iqbal. The dream of justice of Pakistan's little hero is contagious, Iqbal is dead but lives on in those who have the courage to commit to realize his ideas of justice and freedom.
